  • How do I get started?

To get started, explore our gallery, kits, and product selections to find the right match for your space. Once you’ve chosen your preferred style and size, reach out to one of our timber framing specialists. We’ll partner with you to ensure the kit we provide aligns perfectly with your vision for your outdoor area.

  • What is a timber frame?

Timber framing is a traditional building technique that utilizes large, sturdy timbers connected by a system of wooden pegs and holes. This method enables all structural components — including roof trusses, posts, and beams — to fit together seamlessly without the need for nails, screws, or metal brackets.

  • What is the process?

After we receive your order, we start by creating detailed plans and sending them to our engineer for approval. Once we have the go-ahead, we order the timber and provide you with engineered plans if permits are required. The timbers are then cut using either a computerized CNC machine or by hand by our skilled woodworking team. Each joint is carefully test-fitted, refined, and predrilled for oak peg fasteners, and the timbers are sanded and stained according to your selected color.

Lastly, Frame Work Plus Inc prepares the kits for shipment. This entire process usually takes 2–3 months, depending on the engineer’s timeline, timber availability, and our current project load. Spring is our peak season, so we recommend placing your order early if you want your project completed by summer!

  • Can I customize a project?

Absolutely! We are dedicated to working with you to design a structure that meets your specific needs and showcases your personal style.

  • What is a hybrid home?

A hybrid home integrates timber framing with conventional stick framing, enabling you to feature timber in key areas, such as an impressive great room while using standard framing techniques in other parts of the house. The timber-framed sections typically include the main living area, entryway, and any adjoining outdoor spaces.
